Well, that was quite the reaction, wasn’t it?
Aston Villa bounced back from their midweek defeat to Newcastle United in emphatic style by putting Sheffield United to the sword at Bramall Lane. Goals from John McGinn, Ollie Watkins, Leon Bailey, Youri Tielemans and Alex Moreno earned a 5-0 rout and ensured Villa maintained their pressure in the Champions league race.
With Tottenham Hotspur conceding a stoppage-time equaliser to Everton, Unai Emery’s side were given a golden opportunity to reclaim their top-four spot. It is safe to say they did that with aplomb by brutally putting the Blades to the sword.
Villa will be hoping to kick on further when they welcome Chelsea to the Midlands in the FA Cup. Here are your BirminghamWorld player ratings following the 5-0 annihilation.
