Aston Villa player ratings vs Crystal Palace: A mixed bag as Digne stars

Second-half goals from Ollie Watkins and Jeffrey Schlupp meant spoils were shared in Birmingham

Aston Villa played out an entertaining 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace at Villa Park on Sunday afternoon.

A goal from Ollie Watkins midway through the second-half looked to be enough to hand Villa all three points but Palace substitute Jeffrey Schlupp levelled things up with 10 to go.

It was a mixed bag of performances from those in the claret and blue but maybe the most disappointing outcome of all was the injury suffered to Ezri Konsa, with Steven Gerrard confirming that it’s “highly unlikely” the defender will play again this season.
