Aston Villa defender Pau Torres has teased Arsenal following the Villans’ stunning 2-0 away win at Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Spain international, handed a respectable 7/10 in Birmingham World’s player ratings for his performance against the Gunners, didn’t take long to react to his side’s victory. Now with two wins and a draw away at Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, Pau is proud to boast he’s never lost in north London.

Hide AdHis last visit to the Emirates was special as Villarreal drew 0-0 to confirm their place in the UEFA Europa League final – also under Unai Emery. The Yellow Submarine went on to win the 2020/21 instalment of the competition, beating Manchester United on penalties in Gdansk.
“Very important victory at a stadium that I have such good memories from,” Pau wrote on Instagram, adding a wink emoji for good measure. “We keep going!!! UTV,” the 27-year-old continued.
Villa’s victory at Arsenal was unexpected but thoroughly deserved. The Gunners forced several important saves from Emiliano Martinez in the first half but the men in claret and blue were solid defensively and dominated the second period. Goals from Leon Bailey and Ollie Watkins made the difference, while the latter and Youri Tielemans earlier struck the woodwork.
Emery was delighted with his players’ effort and finally admitted post-match - after a season-long denial - that Champions League football could be on the cards. “Day 33, okay, 63 [points]... we could now be contenders,” Emery said during the press conference. “We must be very demanding to keep it.”
