Aston Villa picked up an impressive 2-1 win over Leeds United yesterday evening, with goals coming through Leon Bailey and Emi Buendia. It was a promising showing - but regardless, Villa are still looking for players to add to their squad.
One of them is a 28-year-old Spanish winger, who currently plays for Udinese. Reports suggest that ‘talks’ have already commenced between the club and the player - he could become a Villan very soon, if the rumours are to be believed.

Villa player ‘close’ to cancelling contract
Frederic Guilbert is ‘close to cancelling his contract’ at Aston Villa to help facilitate a move to Strasbourg, according to the Mail Online. He hasn’t made a single appearance in the last three seasons at Villa - this campaign, he’s been relegated to playing with the second team.
A move elsewhere for Guilbert seems to make sense for all parties involved. Against Leeds, with no Matty Cash in the squad, Villa opted to play Ashley Young at right back - instead of Guilbert, who is a natural in that position.
Additionally, Guilbert took to Twitter to vent his frustrations. He tweeted the football, egg timer and praying hands emojis in a tweet on January 7.

On the potential move, Crook said: “I know that they’ve been offered the chance to sign Deulofeu, whether there’s an appetite to do so, I’m not 100% Sure. But certainly, talks have been held about that.”
