Latest Aston Villa transfer news as a Leicester City reunion at Villa Park could be on the cards.

Aston Villa have learned of the apparent transfer stance of Leicester City midfielder Wilfried Ndidi.

Ndidi has just won promotion to the Premier League with Leicester after winning the Championship title. The 27-year-old remained with the club despite their relegation and played 32 times, registering five assists and four goals.

His stay in the East Midlands could be coming to an end however with his contract expiring this summer. It has been reported by LeicestershireLive that is yet unclear whether the FA 2021 FA Cup winner will receive a new contract offer.

“It is good to be back to the Premier League after being relegated and struggling back to EPL is actually something we don’t want to go back to again,” Ndidi told Complete Sports.

“I think morale is high, expectation is high, we have to ensure we do not return to the Championship. It’s a tough place to play.

“If a good chance comes, I won’t mind trying my luck elsewhere but for now I remain a Leicester City player.”

It would be the second summer in a row that Villa would have signed a midfielder from the Foxes for nothing. Youri Tielemans joined last summer after his contract expired at the King Power Arena and Villa might be hoping to repeat the trick after the Belgian’s success in the West Midlands.

Ndidi isn't the only player from Leicester that Villa have been linked with. His Nigeria compatriot Kelechi Iheanacho is also on Villa’s radar and sporting director Monchi is said to have held talks with his representatives. Iheanacho like Ndidi is out of contract and is also wanted by Everton as well as Fenerbahce, Galatasaray, and Besiktas.
