ll the latest Aston Villa transfer news and rumours as Unai Emery prepares his men for the start of the Premier League season.

Aston Villa are now just days away from kicking off their Premier League campaign after a busy pre-season.

Unai Emery’s men are embarking on what should be an exciting campaign, one that will feature European football and, potentially, a top six run given some of the signings the Lions have already made this summer. We could yet see more incomings and outgoings before the end of the transfer window, with weeks still to go, and the work will continue for Villa on that front.

Here we round up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding Villa Park.

Luiz could make way

Villa are said to be willing to lose Douglas Luiz if they can secure a replacement.

According to Football Insider, the Lions are interested in a move for Leeds United star Tyler Adams, and should they get him, Luiz would be expected to move on. It’s claimed Tottenham would be interested in Luiz, who finds himself slipping down the pecking order at Villa Park amid increasing competition.

Crucially, though, Villa face real competition over Adams amid interest from Chelsea, so Luiz’s future remains unclear as the new season, and indeed the end of the transfer window, draws closer.

Ramsey deal close

Villa look set to offload Aaron Ramsey in the coming days.

According to The Athletic, Ramsey is on his way to new Premier League club Burnley and on a permanent deal, but the 20-year-old may yet have a Villa future. Villa are said to have inserted a buy-back option in the deal that will give them first option of purchase should another club come in some time in the future.

Ramsey is yet to make a senior league appearance for Villa, and he is now at an age where he needs to play regularly to continue his development.
