Aston Villa have made a fine start to the summer transfer window, already completing a number of signings.
It has been a superb start for the Lions, who wil already believe they are on their way to improving on this season’s 14th place finish.
Gerrard will be expected to kick on in his first full season in charge, especialy with the level of investment expected this summer.
Villa are not hanging around with their sumer business, but that, in turn, puts pressure on Gerrard to get results from the off.
But as the club continue their bid to bring in fresh faces, we have rounded up all the latest news and rumours surrounding Villa Park:
Villa are said to be chasing a deal for Burnley star Nathan Collins this summer.
According to talkSPORT, the Lions are keen on a deal for the 21-year-old, who is on course to play Championship football following Burnley’s relegation.
Leeds United and Wolves have also been linked, but it’s not likely Collins will come too cheap given he is tied down until 2025.
The young Irishman already has 19 Premier League appearances to his name, joining Burnley from Stoke City in 2019.
Wilson fee agreed
Villa have avoided action from FIFA by agreeing a fee with Rangers for the signing of young striker Rory Wilson.
Rangers were initially said to be unhappy with the deal that saw the 49-goal youngster sign up to a move to Villa Park.
And they could have taken the matter to FIFA to get a higher compensation package.
But according to the Scottish Sun, a fee of around £350,000 plus add-ons has been agreed, and that will be the end of the matter.
