Aston Villa set to battle Leeds United for £13m-rated wonderkid striker dubbed the 'Turkish Sergio Aguero'

Aston Villa are back in Premier League action this weekend with an away trip to AFC Bournemouth. They then face a home clash against Tottenham Hotspur on Friday 16th May. Unai Emery’s side then finish the season with a clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The Midlands club are positioned in 7th place in the table. They remain in with a shout of getting into the Champions League again. However, time is running out with only three fixtures left to play and they may need favours from elsewhere.

Aston Villa and Leeds United are interested in Semih Kilicsoy at Besiktas, according to Turkish news outlet Fotomac. Newcastle United have also been mentioned as a potential suitor. He is valued at around the £35million mark and has been linked with a switch to Villa Park before.
Kilicsoy, 19, could be seen by Emery as one for the future and has dubbed 'the next Sergio Aguero' by former EFL scout Jake McGhee. He is being tipped for big things down the line and is a player with bags of potential. It would be a huge blow for his current club if they were to lose him at such a young age.
The Turkey international, who has made four caps for his country so far, has been on the books at Besiktas since joining them in 2016. He has since risen up through their ranks and was a regular at various different youth levels. The attacker broke into the first-team of the Istanbul outfit in 2023 and hasn’t looked back since.
He has scored 16 goals in 75 matches in all competitions to date, four of which have come in this campaign. Aston Villa would have to see off competition from Leeds if they are to land him, as well as Newcastle. The Whites have recently secured promotion back from the Championship under Daniel Farke.

Aston Villa returned to winning ways last time out in the league by beating Fulham 1-0. Youri Tielemens scored their goal in the first half. That result means they are still in the race for the top five.
Speaking after it, Emery said: “Through the Premier League we are setting our objective because through it we can play in Europe again. Fulham are nine points behind us and this victory against this opponent was very important. We did it. We performed fantastically.
“Even when we were winning 1-0, we had chances but didn’t score another. We could have had some problems defensively, but we defended well, we were focused in the 90 minutes and we played a good match. We deserved to win and maybe to score one more. I’m very happy because to be in Europe is the objective and our dream is to repeat playing in the Champions League.
“We’re not favourites because other teams are in front of us, but we can continue to dream for it, playing strongly to take again the Champions League. The real objective is for us to be in Europe and after today, we are close to being in there.”
