Aston Villa are ‘keen’ to strike a £17million outgoing summer deal - according to reports.

Steven Gerrard’s side enjoyed a transformative January transfer window, and have already been backed to secure some big summer moves too.

And while incomings will take up a great deal of focus for the Villans, there is also an expectation that the summer could see a number of players depart the club.

Here’s what the latest transfer gossip is saying:

Aston Villa ‘keen’ to agree £17million deal

Aston Villa are ‘keen’ to agree an exit for Bertrand Traore this summer.

That’s according to Football Insider, who claim that the Midlands side will entertain offers for the former Chelsea prospect once the transfer window opens -having failed to offload the winger in January.

Traore joined from Lyon two years ago for a fee of around £17million, and it is thought that Villa would hope to recoup a sum close to that fee when negotiating a potential exit.

The winger is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury after returning from the African Cup of Nations, where he represented Burkina Faso, and has scarcely featured for his club side this term.

The report claims that Villa could also entertain loan offers or Traore.

Wilfred Ndidi speaks out amid Aston Villa links

Villa were linked with an eye-catching move for Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi earlier this week.

The 25-year-old was reportedly viewed as an alternative to Brighton’s Yves Bissouma, with Villa targeting midfield additions in the summer - and Gerrard reportedly has a £50million budget to play with.

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has already spoken out on Ndidi, and the player himself was quizzed on the rumours.

Speaking while on international duty with Nigeria, Ndidi said: “At the moment, I am enjoying myself in Leicester.

“My family is here. My business degree is on hold. There was lockdown, and then my daughter was born.”
