Ex-Aston Villa man reveals Sean Dyche held talks with the club

Former Aston Villa CEO Keith Wyness recently has praised Everton boss Sean Dyche and also claimed that he tried to bring the ex-Northampton Town player to the club during his time at Villa Park, in an interview with Football Insider.

Wyness was CEO of Aston Villa between the years of 2016 to 2018. He claims that he tried to bring Dyche to the club during this time, after the departure of Roberto Di Matteo - however, Steve Bruce was ultimately selected to take the reins.

In the interview, Wyness said: "I have a huge amount of respect for him. I talked to him to try and get him to Aston Villa when we were in the Championship. I’ve got a very high opinion of Sean. Steve Bruce came in instead after Roberto Di Matteo left."

Villa amongst clubs who are interested in Kenneth Taylor

Aston Villa have been named as one of several clubs who are interested in a move for 21-year-old Ajax midfielder Kenneth Taylor, according to TEAMtalk. Ajax are looking to offload a number of players, following their catastrophic season so far - and Taylor could be one of them.

Despite this, Taylor is said to be unwilling to leave Ajax in January and will instead seek a summer move. As mentioned, should they look to action a transfer, Villa will not be alone - clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Manchester City and Manchester United are also thought to be in the mix.
