Aston Villa have been given a boost ahead of their trip to Brighton on Saturday afternoon with Graham Potter confirming that both Adam Webster and Enock Mwepu will miss the game through injury.

It was hoped that both would be fit and available with the former in particular set to start but Potter confirms that he suffered a set-back in training on Wednesday meaning he’ll miss more time.

“Both look like they may be struggling,” explained the Seagulls boss.

“A little bit of a set-back for Adam.

“Enock, the weekend will probably come too soon for him so that’s a little bit disappointing but you know.”

Potter also added that there were some of his squad suffering with illness but didn’t confirm who and was unable to divulge into whether or not that would affect their status at the weekend.

“There’s a bit of illness around but apart from that pretty much everybody is back,” he continued.

“Lewis Dunk is back from suspension which is good but it looks like we’ll miss Adam and Enock.

“We need to keep working with him [Webster]. It’s disappointing but these things happen sometimes.”
