Aston Villa will be able to do some transfer business this summer ahead of the next Premier League season

Aston Villa have the chance to sign some players this summer in the transfer window. Unai Emery has the chance to inject more quality into his squad ahead of next season. He also has the opportunity to let some individuals leave should he wish to.

The Midlands outfit were left disappointed on the final day of the last campaign after missing out on the Champions League. They were beaten away at Old Trafford by Manchester United last month. Other teams around them capitalised and they didn’t finish in the top five in the end which was a big blow.

Aston Villa eye Farès Chaïbi transfer deal

Aston Villa have made concrete moves to sign £34million-rated Eintracht Frankfurt attacker Farès Chaïbi, according to TuttoMercatoWeb, and will seek to ‘close the deal’. They are keen on landing the Bundesliga ace over the next couple of months. He could be seen by Emery as someone to boost his attacking ranks.

Chaïbi, 22, has been on the books of his current club since joining them back in 2023. He has become a key player for them over the last two years and is one of their most prized assets. They could now face a battle to keep hold of him amid attention from elsewhere.

The Algeria international, who has 17 caps under his belt so far in his career, has made 73 appearances in all competitions for Frankfurt to date and has scored five goals, two of which came last term. He spent time in the academies as a youngster at SC Bron Terraillon, AS Bron and FC Lyon. Toulouse then came calling in 2019 and he rose into their first-team as a teenager.

Chaïbi went on to play 43 matches for the Ligue 1 team and found the net on eight occasions. His breakthrough into their senior set-up subsequently alerted the attention of Frankfurt. He is under contract in Germany until June 2028 meaning they are under no pressure to sell him just yet and can afford to wait for the right offer to come in for his signature.

Would Farès Chaïbi suit Aston Villa?

Aston Villa could see Chaïbi as someone to add more competition and depth to their roster. They need more bodies and different options as they prepare for their workload of fixtures that is due to come their way again next season. Therefore, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them active on the recruitment front.

After completing a deal to sign him, Frankfurt sporting director Timmo Hardung said at the time: “With Farès Chaibi, we are strengthened by a player who is young and capable of development and yet already has a lot of national and international experience. It can be used variably on several offensive positions and brings attributes that will enrich our game. In the conversations with Farès, we noticed how much he is burning for the new task and Eintracht Frankfurt. We are happy to see him in our colours from now on.”
