Steven Gerrard has wasted no time in adding to his squad during the winter window, having already secured the signings of Philippe Coutinho and Lucas Digne.

But the Villans seemingly aren’t done there, with reports suggesting that Gerrard is keen to add some further depth in midfield.

One name linked with a switch to Villa Park is Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma, who is now entering the final 18 months of his current contract.

While his involvement in the African Cup of Nations with Mali could complicate any potential move, the Guardian claim that the 25-year-old is on Gerrard’s radar this month.

However, Manchester United and Liverpool are also set to ‘battle’ for the midfielder - who is valued at around £50million by his current club.

Bissouma isn’t the only name reportedly being considered by Villa, though.

90min suggest that Villa could face competition for Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara, who is well-known to Gerrard after their time together at Ibrox.

The report suggests that the Finland international is also being ‘monitored’ by Arsenal - who themselves are keen to land midfield reinforcements this month.

An asking price of around £10million has been suggested for Kamara, who begun his senior career with the Gunners before leaving in search of regular football.
