Aston Villa have made an excellent start to the summer transfer window.
The Lions have made no bones about the need to strengthen ahead of the new season having settled for a 14th place finish last season.
Performances improved after the arrival of Steven Gerrard, but there were clear limitations to the squad he inherited.
More strength is needed in a number of positions, and Villa have already begun addressing those areas with a host of impressive signings.
Boubacar Kamara, Philippe Coutinho, Diego Carlos and Robin Olsen have all penned deals ahead of the new season.
Villa are likely to continue their busy summer, and here we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours:
Villa are being linked with a move for Flamengo striker Gabriel Barbosa.
The Lions were linked with the Brazilian frontman in January, and links have now returned, with 90min reporting the Midlands clubs are once again monitoring the forward.
Flamengo are said to be willing to consider a deal having refused to do any business during the January window.
Barbosa is a lethal striker who has scored as many as 42 goals in 61 league appearances for Flamengo. He is reportedly valued at upwards of £30million.
Villa could be about to scare Roma out of a move for midfielder Douglas Luiz.
The Midlands club could do with getting a fee for the midfielder this summer ahead of his contract expiring next year.
Luiz does not intent to renew his contract at Villa Park, according to recent reports, and that has sparked interest from Serie A.
Villa may want to be careful with this one, especially given they may lose the player for nothing next year.
