Aston Villa’s priority is to bring in a new winger in the upcoming January transfer window. As detailed in a report by Birmingham Live, a new wide man is ‘top’ of their list this winter. Anwar El Ghazi, Bertrand Traore, Trezeguet and Jaden Philogene were all allowed to leave over the summer so the club are light in that area still.

Villa rejected midfielder

According to Football Insider, Villa rejected the chance to sign Fulham ace Joao Palhinha last year. The Midlands outfit looked into the possibility of landing the midfielder from Sporting Lisbon but decided not to land him in the end. He joined Marco Silva’s side in the last window following their promotion from the Championship and has become one of their key players this term.

Former player new job

Rob Edwards, who rose up through the youth ranks at Villa Park has landed the Luton Town job. He lasted just 11 games in charge of his previous club Watford and has now now joined their rivals at Kenilworth Road. The Championship side have been in the hunt for a new boss to replace Nathan Jones.
