Aston Villa and Crystal Palace meet at Villa Park in the Premier League on Saturday, November 23.

Aston Villa and Crystal Palace are both contending with some injury worries ahead of their return to Premier League action this weekend.

The Villains are on a four game losing streak, and have lost back to back matches in the league after defeats at Spurs and Liverpool. Unai Emery's side find themselves in ninth, but they're just a point off of Chelsea in third with the league fairly tight at the moment.

They come up against a Palace side currently in the relegation zone, though only by a point. Palace suffered a 2-0 defeat to Fulham last time out with Emile Smith Rowe and Harry Wilson on target.

Villa and the Eagles have already met this season having clashed in the Carabao Cup. Oliver Glasner’s men came away from the West Midlands with a 2-1 win with Daichi Kamada scoring the winner after Jhon Duran had cancelled out Eberechi Eze's opener. Neither goalscorer for the visitors looks set to play, and so to get the full picture, below is the latest injury and suspension news from both clubs.

Aston Villa team news

Summer signing Amadou Onana who joined from Everton for £50m was forced to leave the Belgium camp after picking up an injury against Italy on Thursday. His foot injury is set to put him out of action for between two to three weeks according to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

Youri Tielemans was playing through the pain barrier before the international break. He made a request to the Belgium FA not to call him up for their fixtures and so with a near two-week break, he will have used that time to recover.

Matty Cash and Ross Barkley were both absent with short-term injuries before the international break. A calf injury against Spurs saw Cash miss the defeats to Club Brugge and Liverpool, but it is hopeful he will be back for Saturday. Barkley is in a similar position to Cash, they’re only slight doubts, but Emery should confirm their status in his pre-match press conference.

Defence is a cause for concern for injuries and Ezri Konsa's injury whilst on international duty with England could cause them some problems. He picked up a hip injury in the win against Greece and played no part against Ireland on Sunday. He’s another player that is slightly doubtful, but hopefully he only missed the game at the weekend because of the short turn around.

Ian Maatsen was withdrawn from international duty with the Netherlands under-21s team due to an injury. His issue has not been reported, and Emery will provide more on him during his press duties.

Centre back Pau Torres played no part for Spain during the international break and is doubtful. Both Boubacar Kamara and Jacob Ramsey look set to miss out against Palace however. Ramsey picked up a hamstring injury against Liverpool and is out for a couple of weeks whilst Kamara who has only just returned from a lengthy lay off, strained his hamstring and is out for a week.

Crystal Palace team news

Adam Wharton and Eberechi Eze are set for a spell on the sidelines. Both players went off injured in the Carabao Cup clash earlier this season and are out for a month. Wharton underwent surgery for a groin issue whilst a hamstring injury has Eze sidelined.

Daichi Kamada was given a straight red card last time out against Fulham. He is to miss the next three games. French centre-back Chadi Riad is another absentee, having been limited to just two appearances.

Will Hughes will return however after sitting out of their last match. He has already picked up five yellow cards which is a one-game ban. Jefferson Lerma picked up a hamstring injury against Spurs and was ruled out until after the international break.

Eddie Nketiah has a hamstring problem, and there is currently no return date for the former Arsenal forward. Matheus Franca isn’t expected to return until the New Year.
