Steven Gerrard is willing to listen to offers for Aston Villa striker if he can complete a move for one of his transfer targets this summer.

The Liverpool legend is believed to be in the market for at least one striker during the close-season as he looks to provide competition for England frontman Ollie Watkins.

An unlikely move for Atletico Madrid star Luis Suarez has been mentioned and there have also been linked with Everton’s Brazilian international Richarlison and Spain star Alvaro Morata.

Gerrard also has two big decisions to make on Keinan Davis and Cameron Archer after the duo impressed during their respective loan spells with Nottingham Forest and Preston North End last season.

What seems clear is that Gerrard will look to bring in one high-profile frontman and that could place Ings’ future at Villa Park in jeopardy.

The former Liverpool striker scored seven goals in 31 appearances in all competitions during his maiden season with the club following a surprise £26.5million move from Southampton last summer.

A number of clubs are said to be monitoring the situation including former clubs Southampton and Bournemouth and 90 Min have suggested Gerrard could opt to allow the frontman to depart this summer.

“90min understands Steven Gerrard intends to bring in at least one new forward this window,” read the report.

“Which would push Ings further down the Villa Park pecking order with Ollie Watkins often preferred up front.

“If Gerrard gets his wishes then Villa will listen to offers for Ings, who won’t be short of suitors.

“Former clubs Southampton and Bournemouth have asked to be kept informed of his situation, while fellow south coast side Brighton are also keeping tabs on the 29-year-old.”

Another report has also suggested Leeds United would also be keen on a move for Ings if he becomes available this summer.

Leeds Live have stated Jesse Marsch is keen on adding a forward to his squad and moves for New York City’s Valentin Castellanos and Boavista’s Alberth Elis have been mentioned.

The report states Leeds may consider paying a ‘premium’ for the Premier League experience Ings would provide.
