Aston Villa are reportedly considering signing wonderkid goalkeeper Alastair Graham on a permanent deal from Dundee United. The 15-year-old, who has played international football at youth level for Scotland, is on trial with the Villans this week, according to a report in Football Insider.

This comes on the same day that speculation has emerged to suggest current Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez wants to leave the club. Although of course not directly linked with one another considering Graham’s age, the highly-rated kid between the sticks could be a star of the future.

The Scot sensation is said to be wanted by an array of other unnamed Premier League clubs but Dundee technical director Gordon Strachan has agreed to let Graham spend time training with the Villans. This allows Emery’s team the opportunity to get to know the player and weigh up a potential transfer.

If Graham, who represented Scotland U15s against Malta last September, was to make a move to Villa Park, he would be competing with the likes of Oliwier Zych, Viljami Sinisalo and Robin Olsen to become a backup option. Years along the line, he could perhaps become a number one but that is a long way away yet.
