Plans have been made between Aston Villa and a La Liga club, it was announced on Monday morning.

Aston Villa will take on Spanish La Liga outfit Valencia away from home in the final game of pre-season ahead of the 2023/24 Premier League campaign.

Up for grabs is the Trofeo Naranja - the Orange Trophy - as the winner of the annual pre-season competition will take home the silverware described as prestigious.

Valencia, who Unai Emery managed between 2008 and 2012, have hosted Trofeo Naranja ever since 1959. Everton were the team chosen to play at Mestalla last season.

The fixture, which is dated for exactly a week before Villa’s Premier League opener away at Newcastle United, will be streamed live on VillaTV.

Tickets will also be available for fans to watch the game in person. All details, including pricing and on-sale dates, will be announced by the club in due course.
