Aston Villa youngster Omari Kellyman has signed a new long-term contract with the club. The 18-year-old, who made his senior debut against Hibernian in the UEFA Europa Conference League play-off in August, has been a regular in matchday squads.

Able to play anywhere across the attacking midfield, Villa hope Kellyman can save them millions in the future due to his high potential. “Everyone is delighted to see Omari sign his contract extension,” Mark Harrison, Villa’s academy manager said.

“Since he joined us he has shown an exemplary attitude and approach to his work, while performing consistently at Under-18 and Under-21 level, which led to him making his first team debut and training regularly with the first team.

“The first team staff have been very positive about his development so far and we look forward to that continuing. This is also a great example of the continued integration between the Academy and the first team,” Harrison continued.

Kellyman, still just 18 years of age, has scored four goals in three Premier League 2 appearances this term. The midfielder, who will be keen for more first-team opportunities, also has an assist to his name from his 90 minutes in the Europa Conference League.
