Villa drew with champions Manchester City, and had decisions gone their way, they could have taken all three points, even if City did have the better of the chances.
Even with that result, Vill have only got four points from their first six games, and that has Gerrard under pressure.

New signing
Villa have strengthened their academy with a new signing.
According to TWTD, Villa have managed to lure Ipswich Town defender Teddy Bloomfield to the Midlands.
Bloomfield is a full-back who has been playing for Ipswich’s under-15s, and Villa appear to see him as a gem.

According to the report, Villa have paid £100,000 to sign Bloomfield, settling on a compensation figure with the Tractor Boys.
Cash blow
Matty Cash appears to have suffered an injury in a fresh setback for Villa.

Hide AdGerrard has already lost Diego Carlos to injury, and it looks as though he has now lost defender Cash for a spell.
Speaking after Villa’s draw with City, Gerrard confirmed: “Cashy’s got a hamstring situation. We’ll check it out in the next couple of days. He’ll have an MRI scan.”
Gerrard will likely be in a position to confirm the extend of the blow some time this week.

Gerrard said after the game: “Losing Matty Cash was a blow because he’s important in how we play because we need his energy and his legs.
“I’m disappointed with that injury but I thought Ashley Young epitomised everything we needed today and he has since I come through the door.
“I think when you take over a challenge like this so early in your managerial career it’s vital you have the right senior players.”
