Aston Villa are back in action this weekend as they look to end their wretched run of form.

Steven Gerrard’s men have lost their last three, and it gets no easier this weekend when they face Tottenham, who smashed Newcastle for five last weekend.

Villa are said to be plotting a move for Brighton star Yves Bissouma.

The Midlands club are said to have had a £20million offer for Bissoume rejected in January, and they are now being tipped to make a move again ahead of next season.

Football Insider say Villa are expressing an interest and that they have been in touch with the Brighton’s star representatives, asking to be kept in touch with any developments

Coutinho boost

Villa can be confident of pulling off a permanent deal for Philippe Coutinho, according to the Birmingham Mail.

It’s claimed the Lions can indeed afford to keep the Brazilian around long-term, despite his large wages.

That will be music to the ears of Villa fans amid a degree of nervousness around whether the club will activate their £34million option to buy.
