Aston Villa have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Port Vale’s teenage star Freddie Lawrie.

According to Football Insider, Lawrie is set to become the club record sale for a schoolboy player when he joins Villa. The U15s player has been tracked by a number of Premier League clubs due some brilliant performances as a youngster, with Villa set to win the race to sign the central midfielder.

A number top players have come through the rank at Villa Park in recent years, including the likes of Jacob Ramsey, Tim Iroegbunam, and Jack Grealish.

Felix snubbed Villa move

Elsewhere, and a former Golden Boy winner snubbed the chance to join Aston Villa this summer as he pursued a dream loan move, according to reports in Spain.

Portugal attacker Joao Felix was thought to be a target for a number of English clubs including Aston Villa, Liverpool and Manchester United.

Unai Emery was reportedly keen to bolster his attacking options with Ollie Watkins, Leon Bailey and new recruit Moussa Diaby all leading the line. Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo reports that Felix forced the move to the Nou Camp and turned down several offers from England and Saudi Arabia, including Villa.
