Aston Villa ended up having a busy January on the transfer front. They brought in Donyell Malen, Andres Garcia, Axel Disasi, Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio to bolster their ranks.
The Midlands outfit also cut ties with Jhon Duran, Jaden Philogene and Diego Carlos to free up space and funds. Meanwhile, the likes of Emi Buendia, Lewis Dobbin and Joe Gauci went out on loan, among others.

AI predicts the players Aston Villa will sign this summer
Tammy Abraham (AC Milan): He is a player who Aston Villa fans know all about already following his loan spell at Villa Park back in the 2018/19 campaign. The striker was a hit during that stint and scored 26 goals in 40 games to help them win the Championship play-offs. AI believes he is someone who could emerge on the radar again later this year. If he joined, he would boost their striking department and help fill the void left by Duran’s exit.
Ivan Fresneda (Sporting Lisbon): The 20-year-old has a lot of potential and would be a useful long-term option. However, he only joined Sporting Lisbon last year and it would be a surprise to see him leave already. Prior to his switch to Portugal, he rose up through the ranks at Real Vallodolid and broke into their first-team as a teenager in La Liga.
Benjamin Sesko (RB Leipzig): RB Salzburg have managed to keep hold of the Slovenia international for the time being but AI is to be believed, he is someone who has been recommended for Aston Villa. He would be an ideal acquisition and would significantly sharpen their frontline and provide some strong competition for Ollie Watkins up top. Sesko is valued at £42million on Transfermarkt.

Leander Dendoncker: AI has predicted that Aston Villa will cut ties with the Belgium international on a permanent basis. He is currently out on loan at Anderlecht and has fallen out of favour with his parent club. Letting him go full-time would suit all parties involved.
Emi Buendia: He joined from Norwich City back in 2021 but it hasn’t worked out for him, hence why he has recently been shipped out to Bayer Leverkusen on a temporary basis. His time in Germany now is a chance for him to put himself in the shop window.
John McGinn: AI has claimed that due to ‘increased competition’ for his position in midfield, McGinn is a candidate to leave Aston Villa later this year. It would be a surprise to see him go as he has been a great servant to the club. He helped them go up from the second tier after joining from Hibernian and has since adapted well to life in the top flight.
