‘A potential game changer’ - Aston Villa tipped to make move for Rangers star

Tuesday’s musings from Villa Park

Aston Villa could make a move for former Liverpool winger Ryan Kent before the close of the summer transfer window.

That’s according to journalist Pete O’Rourke who states that the Englishman who now plays his trade in Scotland with Rangers, played his best stuff under the now Villa manager and a move to the West Midlands could be a match made in heaven.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, O’Rourke went as far as stating that Kent could be a ‘potential game changer’ for the claret and blue.

“I think we saw the best of Ryan Kent under Steven Gerrard and I’m sure Gerrard would be confident that he would get the best out of Kent as well if he was able to bring them to Aston Villa.

“He’s a potential game changer, Ryan Kent, on his day, a really skilful, tricky winger who can score goals, create goals as well. So I’m sure it’d be a signing that would excite the fans as well with this style of play. I think it could be a win-win situation.”

Kent, 25, has made nearly 200 appearances for the Gers since moving north of the border in 2018 and boasts an impressive record of 30 goals and 49 assists in that time.

The 25-year-old has just one-year left on his deal at Ibrox and could be available for a cut-price deal if the claret and blue were serious about a move.
