21 famous Aston Villa fans ranked by net worth as Tom Hanks admits 'kooky' reason for being passionate Villain

Oscar winner Tom Hanks has been seen at Villa Park in the past and he opened up on what led him to becoming an Aston Villa fan.

Hollywood star Tom Hanks reiterated his love for Aston Villa last week as he appeared as a guest on hit BBC chat show The Graham Norton Show.

The 67-year-old Oscar winner was on the famous sofa to promote his The Moonwalkers exhibition in London and at one point Norton quizzed both Hanks and fellow actor Julia Roberts on their affinity for English football. Roberts was first to share her 'possession' with Manchester United, to jeers from the live audience, before Hanks opened up on his reason for being a Villa fan.

He said: "The very first time I came to England I woke up very early in the morning and the football scores were on the BBC. They all had kooky names like 'Cheltenham took Twikesby two nil', then 'Aston Villa drew 1-1'. I thought Aston Villa, well that sounds like a lovely little place. 'Oh I'm taking a holiday in Aston Villa'. It turns out it's in Birmingham, it's a fabulous place, Villa Park is a magnificent stand to go to."

After Tom Hanks' latest confession of love for Aston Villa, BirminghamWorld looks at 21 famous fans of the club, ranked by their reported net worth.
