Aston Villa, Wolves and Newcastle ranked in table based on most expensive PL transfer - and photos of signings

Who is every Premier League club’s most expensive player of all time? Including Aston Villa, Wolves, Newcastle, Leeds, Man Utd, Liverpool, Man City and West Ham

With the January window fast approaching and plenty of transfer speculation swirling around Premier League clubs, plenty of supporters are already getting excited about potential new additions to their respective clubs.

This is particularly the case for West Midlands teams Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers, as both sides head into January with new managers at the helm. Unai Emery and Julen Lopetegui have a few weeks to assess their current crop as the World Cup plays out in Qatar - and they are bound to want to bring in some reinforcements.

Both teams have made disappointing starts to the season, with Aston Villa down in 12th despite hoping for a European push and Wolves at the rock bottom of the table. The Wanderers may be looking to sign some fresh faces up front, with eight goals scored in 15 games being by far the worst total in the division.

These two clubs are not the only ones who will be making signings come January, as the other 18 will also have lots of time to work with their players during the international break. They too will likely make plans to strengthen their squads, with the Premier League becoming all the more competitive.

All of this transfer talk has got us thinking here at Birmingham World and two questions have come to mind: What are the most expensive signings for every club, and how do they rank up against one another?

Look no further, as we have done the research and ordered the Premier League based on the amount that all 20 record signings cost.
