Aston Villa's £17m and £2m stars made available for transfer by Unai Emery

Unai Emery says he will allow Bertrand Traore and Calum Chambers to leave Aston Villa this month.
Both players aren’t prominent members of the first-team and their departures could help fund moves for new players.

Chambers - who was at Arsenal with Emery - has played just 178 minutes of football - with all his games coming in the UEFA Europa Conference League. He has been an unused substitute 16 times in the Premier League and was not on the bench against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup.
Emery said in his pre-match press conference ahead of Everton: “Chambers and Traore can go and if that happens, we can think about adding one or two players to the squad – but we are not focused on a particular player.
'I want to increase the level of the players who are here between now and the end of the season. In our situation is not easy to get something in this transfer window.

“We are second in the league and we are still in the Europa Conference League and the FA Cup.”
Traore cost Villa a reported £17m when he signed in September 2020 from Lyon. His contract expires this summer and so should any club making an offer he would be available for a fee considerably smaller than what Villa paid.
Chambers has only been at Villa since January 2022 and will be moved on two-years after he signed. His contract runs until the summer of 2025 and he joined from Arsenal for a reported £2m.
