Aston Villa snubbed but Everton and West Ham picked in shock Premier League team of the season
Ollie Watkins would be one of the first on most lips if asked about the recent English top-flight campaign but the England international has been ignored. The likes of Leon Bailey, John McGinn and Pau Torres don’t get a look-in either, though those exclusions can be fathomed a little better.
Manchester City, as champions of England for a fourth successive season, understandably take up several spots in the XI but there’s only one place for an Arsenal player. Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur’s star men have also been given recognition.

The Hammers, meanwhile, sunk to ninth in an underwhelming final season under David Moyes.
