However, Emery remains keen on securing a deal for Acuna, who Pep Guardiola described as ‘a top defender’ earlier this season’ when the January transfer window opens for business as he looks to provide further competition for the likes of Lucas Digne and Alex Moreno.
‘No proposals’ for Wolves star wanted by Premier League rivals
Journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed there is ‘no guarentee’ Wolves will agree to sell Portugal international Pedro Neto during the January transfer window.
The 23-year-old winger has impressed during a four-year stay at Molineux by scoring 12 goals and providing 18 assists in 119 appearances in all competitions. That has brought major interest from the likes of Arsenal, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain during that time and that interest remains alive despite Neto having four years left on the contract extension he signed last year.
Romano has claimed there are clubs ‘following the situation’ and identified one of Wolves’ Premier League rivals as one long-term suitor.

“Arsenal wanted Neto just over a year ago. They’ve always been interested in the player and they keep tracking him, but there are also other clubs following the situation. He’s always been on the list for Arsenal but it’s nothing more concrete just yet, and the race looks to be absolutely open.”
