Aston Villa fan helps save life of supporter during European tie against Olympiakos at Villa Park

An Aston Villa supporter suffered a medical emergency during Villa’s European fixture against Olympiakos on Thursday evening (May 2).
The incident took place just before half-time, West Midlands Police confirmed.

Two police officers, PC Amrit Duggal and PC Darren Faulkner, also made their way through the crowd with medics. More officers were then sent in to the stand to support with the stewarding operation as the stand was cleared to allow medics room to work.


Inspector Marc Butler said: "We would like to commend the Villa fans for their support in clearing the area to allow the man to get the help he needed.
"Our officers then transported the family of the man to the hospital. We would like to thank all our partners in what was a great example of club, police and ambulance staff working together.
“We wish the fan all the best with his recovery.”
