Cheltenham Festival: 15 pubs showing racing action in Birmingham this week

The wait is over for horse racing lovers as the Cheltenham Festival roars into action this week.

A total of 28 races will take place across the four action-packed days of racing from Tuesday, March 14 to Friday, March 17, with the gun for the prestigious Gold Cup race going off at 3:30 pm on Friday.

The total prize fund on offer for the Gold Cup is an eye-watering £625,000 with Cheltenham's race prize money only second to the Grand National in the UK.

Up to 274,000 people will take in the horse racing action in person from Cheltenham with hundreds of millions of pounds gambled on races across the country.

The prestigious event is just a short trip from Birmingham and many avid equestrian fans will make the journey, but the action can also be enjoyed from many of the city's pubs.
