The Game of Thrones prequel - House of Dragons - will hit the screens of HBO Max subscribers and HBO on 21 August. The show is based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood,” the series, and is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones takes place.

The prequel will specifically tell the story of House Targaryen, to which Daenerys Targaryen belonged. Emilia Clarke played the character Daenerys aka the Dragon Queen in the show.

Intense-looking Paddy Considine is an English actor who has had memorable roles in Simon Ross, The Bourne Ultimatum; Johnny, In America and Richards, Dead Man’s Shoes. In Peaky Blinders, he played the role of Father Hughes. And, in House of Dragon he will play King Viserys I Targaryen.

According to HBO, the character was chosen by the lords of Westeros to succeed the Old King, Jaehaerys Targaryen, at the Great Council at Harrenhal. He is a warm, kind, and decent man, and only wants to take forward his grandfather’s legacy. However, there is a twist in the Game of Thrones style. Not all good men become good kings in this series.
