Shawn Mendes has cancelled the rest of his world tour shows, including a concert inBirmingham which was scheduled to take place on July 25 2023. This comes just weeks after he postponed a run of shows because of mental health struggles, but now he has taken the step to cancel all upcoming performances.

The world-famous singer-songwriter opened up on social media on 27 July, explaining why he made the difficult decision, as he thanked fans for sticking with him on his journey: “I started this tour excited to finally get back to playing live after a long break due to the pandemic, but the reality is I was not at all ready for how difficult touring would be after this time away.

“After working with an incredible group of health professionals, it has become more clear that I need to take the time to ground myself and come back stronger”, Mendes said. “It breaks my heart to tell you this but I promise I will be back as soon as I’ve taken the right time to heal. Thank you all so much for supporting me.”

How can I get a refund for my Shawn Mendes Birmingham 2023 tickets?

The Canadian was set to play five dates in the UK - inBirmingham, London, Manchester, Glasgow, and Sheffield - to wrap up his world tour. His Birmingham performance was set to take place on July 25 2023 at the Resorts World Arena, but it has now been cancelled.

The good news is anyone who bought tickets will automatically receive a full refund, according to the Gila River website. All refunds will be processed to the original method of payment used at the time of purchase, once funds are received from the event organiser - usually within 30 days.

However, it is worth noting that if the tickets were transferred to you, the refund will go to the person who originally purchased the tickets from Ticketmaster.

Fans who bought tickets will also have first priority on any future Shawn Mendes events.
