West Midlands-born Darren Harriott has become one of the early favourites to win ITV’s figure skating show Dancing On Ice.

Eleven celebrities will be taking to the ice in the 15th series of ITV’s long-running figure skating show Dancing On Ice, which premiere early next year.

Stand-up comedian Darren is among those likely to win, according to the Sports betting community, Online Betting Guide (OLBG). Originally, from Oldbury, he now lives in London, and has been a regular on TV screens.

Darren, 34, was a nominee for the Edinburgh Comedy Awards Best Newcomer in 2017 and two years later, he was nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Awards Best Comedy Show.

Odds favour former Olympic gymnast Nile Wilson the most. He is the early frontrunner at 9/2. And, Love Island winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloǧlu, who has sprung to national fame over the summer, is second favourite at 5/1 to win this year’s competition.

The second position is shared by two others, including Darren. Soapstar Mollie Gallagher also has 5/1 odds, followed by reality tv star Joey Essex further back at 20/1.

Sports stars have dazzled on the show in the past and in 2013, gymnast Beth Tweddle won the competition.

Of the early favourites, three are bound to be a hit with the younger audiences. Ekin-Su Cülcüloǧlu and Joey Essex have a combined following of more than 5 million followers on instagram; Nile Wilson, meanwhile, has 1.56 million Youtube subscribers.

The celebrities will be coached and judged by the best there is from figure skating - Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean. The pair won gold at the 1984 Sarajevo Winter Olympics and their performance was seen live by 24 million viewers in the UK.

Matt Evers is the longest-running professional skater on the show, having taken part in all 14 series to date.
