Dancing On Ice has been confirmed by ITV to return to our screens on Sunday, January 16 with 12 new celebrities hopeful of lifting the trophy.
Last year’s edition of the show was thrown into slight disarray with positive Covid-19 tests and injuries, however, the show lived up to expectations with Capital FM’s Sonny Jay along with partner Angela Egan lifted the trophy, after pipping Matt Evers and Faye Brookes to win.
The series will see celebrities team up with professional skaters, skating live each week in a bid to impress the judges, and of course the viewers at home who play a massive part in the eventual winners.
This year’s show is highly anticipated, with a great line-up announced along with a new edition to the judging panel.
Legendary skating duo Christopher Dean and Jane Torvill will return, alongside returning judge Ashley Banjo and they will be joined by new judge Oti Mabuse, who is most known for her involvement with Strictly Come Dancing.
Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield will host the show.
Taking part from Birmingham is Liberty Poole.
The former Nando’s waitress and marketing student will return to our screens after a six months hiatus, after she featured on the sixth season of Love Island.
Liberty partnered up with Jake Cornish on day one, and many had them as their favourites to win after seemingly going from strength to strength. However, after doubt crept in on both accounts, the couple agreed to go their separate ways, leaving the villa alone, just days away from the final.
Ms Poole has done very well for herself since leaving the show. She has amassed an impressive 1.5 million Instagram followers, and has done a few collaborations, most notably with Skinny Tan.
The Birmingham native was also branded an ‘inspiration’ for how she acted on the show.
Other celebrity contestants include:
Coronation Street’s Sally Dyvenor
Happy Mondays’ Bez
Paralympian Stef Reid
Rugby star Ben Foden
Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt
Paul Gascoigne’s son, Regan Gascoigne
Pop Star Rachel Stevens
Professional Dancer Brendan Cole
