“I had to get an ambulance and he had snapped his collarbone into two. It was horrendous, so I spent like six hours in the hospital at Stoke.

“I’d like to say thankyou to the paramedics and the nurses and the doctors who were amazing, so thank you so much.

“Yeah, so that was awful, and like it is horrible, horrible, horrible to hear your child in pain.”

The Bury-born actress, who was sitting on a train, added: “But yeah, he’s ok. There’s not really actually much you can do for it. Apparently it mends by itself but it’s just horrible when you’re a mum and you just wish you could take every pain away from them.”

Helen revealed the accident happened the day before she was due to take her eldest daughter Matilda to Paris on a girls’ trip.

The mother-of-three decided to take Charlie with her to the capital city of France, and posted a video of the toddler to her Instagram story.

She wrote alongside it: ‘’Charlie’s been amazing bless him. so brave x at the Eiffel Tower today.”

Helen, who played Rosie Webster in the ITV soap, was with Scott Sinclair for 13-years until the pair split in October last year. They share three children; Matilda, seven, Delilah, four, anc one-year-old Charlie.
