Coutinho, 30, who is a midfielder for Aston Villa, visited the specialist food shop in Bearwood on January 27 and lunched there. BrasilPortu co-owner, Diego, shared a photograph he took with Coutinho, who also plays for Brasil - and said he is a regular customer. Diego told BirminghamWorld: “I know him and we have a professional relationship.”

Coutinho, who is married to Ainê Coutinho and is a dad of three kids, lives in the West Midlands as a loan from Barcelona to Aston Villa.

BrasilPortu in Bearwood sells special Brazillian and Portuguese ingredients and is also a butcher in addition to having a restaurant and cafe. Other footballers like Diego Costa and Douglas Luiz have also visited this hidden gem.

Diego told BirminghamWorld: “The people from Brazilian and Portuguese communities are loyal to their foods and so they visit when they miss home.”
