BBC Good Food Show Winter returns to NEC: when is it, star chefs, and more to look out for

One of the UK’s biggest food events, BBC Good Food Show Winter, will be kicking off its annual show with four jam-packed days of all-star celebrity chefs, workshops, foodie inspiration, and much more.

Packed full of seasonal ideas for Christmas, the BBC Good Food Show Winter has all the ingredients for the ultimate festive day out.

James Martin, who will be appearing at the show, said: “The arrival of BBC Good Food Show Winter is always one of the first signs that the festive season is back! When and where is it?

From Thursday 24 – Sunday 27 November, the show will take place at the NEC.

What to expect at the show?

Birmingham’s own Glynn Purnell and Brad Carter will take centre-stage at BBC Good Food Show Winter’s Big Kitchen, offering recipe inspiration, tips and tricks and live demonstrations, alongside James Martin, Nadiya Hussain, Ainsley Harriott and Michel Roux, and many more.

Commonly known as ‘Yummy Brummie’, Glynn Purnell was awarded Birmingham’s first Michelin star in 2005 and has since become a household name across the region and beyond. Glynn is the proud owner of popular Michelin-star restaurant Purnell’s located in the heart of Birmingham city centre and visitors to the show can catch a glimpse him in action in the Big Kitchen at Sunday’s show.

After recently making it onto the Top 20 UK restaurants for ‘The Good Food Guide 2022’, Moseley-based Michelin-starred chef, Brad Carter whose own restaurant, Carters of Moseley made the list, will be bringing something different to the NEC this year. As a regular television personality featuring on popular shows, Brad has established a popular profile, putting his own spin on modern British food. Fans of the popular chef can catch Brad in action at the Let’s Talk Good Food Stage during Sunday’s show.

From being a foodie fan of the show to cooking live in the Festive Kitchen on Saturday 26^th November, Poppy O’Toole is another native Brummie that guests can catch at the show. Poppy is a Michelin-trained who has become an internet sensation after losing her job due to the pandemic – fans can find out more about her journey at the Let’s Talk Good Food stage on Saturday. Best-selling author Sabrina Ghayour will also be at Festive Kitchen.

The brand-new BBC Good Food Wine Club Tasting Theatre will be hosting five sessions a day to show you how to get the most out of your favourite glass of wine, with the opportunity to try a range of fortified wines and dessert wines, including delicious sparkling wines originating from France and Italy, as well as the best of British wines.

Visitors to the show can browse a selection of local exhibitors to the region and have the opportunity to support local businesses, including Lifetime Brands Europe Ltd, Family Secret Ltd, Jam N Vegan, Ms Tita Coffee, Rourkes Pies & Deli Limited and Vegan 1^st.

How to book?

Tickets start from just £25 for adults; £14 for children age 6-17, and under 5s go free. Big Kitchen tickets are available to book in advance at an additional price and are subject to availability.
