The new Covid rules were announced in a major address last Wednesday as part of the Government’s strategy to combat the Omicron variant.

Fresh guidance on face masks and working from home were included in the range of measures.

The most controversial change is an extension of Covid passport rules was also announced.

The booster jab campaign is also being ramped up, with Johnson announcing an urgent roll out of the booster jab to combat a “tidal wave” of Omicron variant cases.

The announcements come as the Conservative Party has been accused of breaking Covid rules by hosting Christmas parties at Downing Street last year.

‘Everyone in the country should get a booster jab’

Bill says: “With the party, I think that’s been blown out of all proportion because nobody else has got anything to write about at the moment. I think most people looked at it, okay,

“They’re trying to make a mountain out of a molehill. The booster jab - I think everybody in the country should have a jab.

“I think the more people get the jab, And the anti vaxxers is what’s causing half of this. So yeah, let’s have it done.”

‘He’s a disgrace’

Lorraine says: “How convenient, for a start -  and he’s a disgrace. He’s an absolute disgrace. Talk about a hypocrite! It’s beyond hypocrisy, what he said and what he’s done. He’s shameful.”

“Absolutely. I’m angry. But I’m angry about the whole thing. Because I don’t believe in the Coronavirus either. So I don’t believe a word of what any of the government say. But especially Boris Johnson - he’s a disgrace.”

‘It’s a good idea for everybody to be vaccinated’

Robert says: “I think personally it’s a good idea for everybody to be vaccinated. Because if you don’t, you’re gonna put limitations on yourself. I don’t think people need to do that. You need to protect everyone. Regardless of age, sex, colour, culture - you need to protect people. And if that’s the only way to do it, let’s just get it done.”

Vivienne says: “There’s no governance from the party any more. You just had a baby… You just got married! You told everybody, they couldn’t do those things. So what’s the booster got to do with anything? You’ve got to be fair to the people of the public - to the people of the United Kingdom. You’ve got to put trust in us.”
