Two arrested following a baby’s death

A man and woman have been arrested following the death of a boy in Birmingham. Police were alerted to a one-year-old in cardiac arrest at an address near Edgbaston on Saturday evening. Both were arrested on suspicion of causing or allowing the death of a child and bailed while enquiries continue.

Man in critical condition after crash

A man is in critical condition after a crash in Shirley on Sunday. Both drivers stayed at the scene, but a 36-year-old man was arrested by officers on suspicion of drink driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has been interviewed and released pending further enquiries as the investigation continues.

Birmingham 2022 tickets back on sale

To mark 100 days until it begins, tickets for the 2022 Commonwealth Games are now back on sale. Tuesday 19 April is the last major ticket release before the games begin in July. More information on tickets is available through the official website.
