Teens charged over spate of robberies and attacks in Yardley, Birmingham

Police have charged two teenagers over a series of robberies in Yardley, which saw children threatened and attacked.

Officers identified links between the robberies which saw young vulnerable victims targeted in and around Oaklands Recreation Ground between February and May.

The Birmingham Robbery Team with support from local neighbourhood officers arrested the two boys, both age 13, following extensive investigative work. One has been charged with two counts of robbery and theft from a person. The other has been charged with robbery.

They were remanded into custody to appear at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court today (1 June).
