Flowers & foliage float across the walls and ceilings as gushing waterfalls and chirping birds and animals create a live forest oasis in the heart of the city.

This is the vision of a pioneering new independent restaurant due to open in the Mailbox in Birmingham city centre - with its forest-like interiors set to change with the seasons. It’s from the team behind The Woods in Solihull town centre where customers are treated to wild forest inspired food and drinks amid a nature inspired environment.

Owners, and life partners, Curtis and Luke, both love the great outdoors and travelling which they have translated into an exhilarating dining experience.

Expect to enjoy stinging nettle sizzlers and wild meat dishes such as venison steaks, pan fried pheasant breast and quail or maybe grazing boards, crumpet burger and braised beef stew. There will be lots of traditional breakfast, lunch and dinner options too - with sustainably sourced ingredients with environmental values at the core.

Curtis said: “Our theme will be fully immersive and transport customers into a wild forest, they will have lots to see, nature noises to hear and themed food and drink to offer the real wild experience. Customers can enjoy a coffee and a cake during the breakfast menu or a traditional breakfast or be more adventurous should they wish to try stinging nettle sizzlers during dinner service.

“Our aim is to be a number one destination for those customers who want a unique feel, couples on dates or for those looking to capture exciting social media posts. We want to make our woodland themed business a destination customers are drawn to and appeal to all customers who are looking for either breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, coffee, cake, pastries or drinks at night!”

It certainly sounds like a unique opportunity for Brummie foodies and Restaurant at The Woods at the Mailbox should be open later this summer. Follow them on Facebook or Instagram for updates.
