Woman cyclist dies after collision with car in Solihull

A cyclist has died following a collision with a car in Solihull this morning (12 January).

The cyclist, a woman in her 40s, suffered serious injuries and was sadly confirmed dead shortly afterwards.

The crash happened on Friday Lane, on the stretch between Hampton Lane and the M42, in Barston at around 10am.

Her family have been informed.

The driver of the car, a Nissan Juke, remained at the scene and is assisting with police enquiries.

The road is currently closed while West Midlands police investigate the circumstances around the collision.
