Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral takes place on Monday (19 September) and the country will be coming together to pay their respects and remember her 70 years on the throne.
The day of the funeral has been declared a bank holiday and businesses have been encouraged to allow employees time off to mark the occasion if they wish to.

Hide AdAlthough a lot of places will be shut for the day, there are options for those who would like to mark the occasion with others or at public venues.
Centenary Square
The funeral of the Queen will be broadcast on a large screen in Centenary Square on Monday, September 19. This is intended to give Brummies a place to reflect and come together to pay their respects to the late Queen. The screen will go live shortly before 11am and the broadcast will conclude at approximately 5pm.
There will be no seating, refreshments or other services available on site. People are advised to prepare well in advance as many businesses are planning to close for the state funeral.
Dartmouth Park, West Bromwich
Sandwell Council said in a statement that a large screen will broadcast the funeral on Monday between 10.30am and 5pm. The screen will be located close to the bandstand where anyone wishing to watch the funeral service can stand.

Hide AdThe screening will include full broadcast coverage of the funeral service at Westminster Abbey including a two-minutes silence and the committal Service at St. George’s Chapel. Mayor of Sandwell Councillor Richard Jones will be attending Dartmouth Park to lead the observance of the two-minute silence in Sandwell.
People will be able to place flowers at the Dartmouth Park memorial and are advised to remove any cellophane wrapping, which can be placed in the bins in the park.
There will be no refreshments available to purchase so visitors should bring food and drink with them. However, toilet facilities will be available, and parking is available in West Bromwich town centre car parks and at Sandwell Valley.

The funeral service starts at 11 am, but BBC will be running coverage all day, starting with BBC Breakfast at 6am. It will also be available to stream on iPlayer.

Hide AdITV will also be broadcasting uninterrupted funeral coverage all day on its main channel and five digital channels, as well as online on ITV Hub. It has also confirmed that there will be no advertising shown on the day
Sky News will be covering the whole day starting at 5am.
