Birmingham is gaining a lot of appreciation for what a beautiful city it is, with a study last year suggesting it has the most photogenic skyline in the UK. I decided to speak to people here in the city about where they think would be the best spots to grab a good selfie for social media.
Jennifer says: “I definitely think down by the canals around Gas Street Wharf is a really lovely place to go. You know, that was built some time ago now, but that’s an area we can really be proud of.

Oh - Pigeon Park! You’ve got to have a selfie in Pigeon Park I think as well.”
Millie says: “There’s a peace garden in Ladywood. It’s quite nice. It’s got nice flowers out this time of year. But if you’re a tourist and then The Bull, obviously, is an obvious place to start.”
Kishana says: “It’s not quite in the city but Cannon Hill Park’s a really nice place to go. Digbeth is also really quite cool because there’s loads of graffiti and artwork and just people’s stuff everywhere. It’s such a beautiful place to go. Especially if you want to eat or do absolutely anything really - selfies included!”
Carol says: “I particularly like down by the cathedral. I think it’s a really lovely area. And you know, it’s somewhere that’s slightly out from the very centre. So it’s well worth a walk down to spend a bit of time there. Victoria Square and up there. I know that having worked in at the moment but again, I think it’s a really nice place to be.
