Cloud building rain, heavy at times, arrives during the evening. Turning drier for the early hours with clearer intervals developing. Temperatures holding up more than late with a moderate breeze. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Thursday:

A scattering of showers possible during Thursday but many staying largely dry with sunny spells. Skies clearing later giving a chilly night with patchy frost and fog. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

The Met Office have issued their long range weather forecast for the period from Tuesday 27 September to Thursday 6 October.

A generally unsettled start to the period across the UK with a mixture of bright or sunny spells, showers and occasional longer spells of rain. Most persistent rain may affect the east at first and will become more likely for the west later.

Any drier and brighter spells are most probable for central and southern regions. Often windy, with gales possible at times, mainly across the north and east. Into October, the conditions are likely to remain changeable with further frontal systems spreading from the west and northwest at times.

Wettest conditions with periods of strong winds likely in the west, driest weather in the southeast. Temperatures rather cold at first, particularly across the north, but becoming close to or just above normal by the end of the period.
