West Heath man charged with murder of Shane Thompson appears in court

Robert Goodwin, the 31 year old West Heath man charged with the murder of Shane Thompson has appeared before magistrates. Shane died from multiple stab wounds in a house on Roundlea Road, Bartley Green on Saturday 4th December and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Man sentenced to life for murdering Kerry Wooley in Solihull

Ian Bennett, the man who murdered Kerry Woolley in a frenzied knife attack at her Solihull flat, has been sentenced to life with a minimum term of 25 years. His mother Lynda Bennett was also jailed for three years for assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice.

More than 200 Afghan refugees to be welcomed to Birmingham

Birmingham City Council have announced plans to accept more than 200 Afghan refugees by 2024. 80 Afghan interpreters and their families have already resettled in the city following the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan. Those arriving through these schemes will have immediate Indefinite Leave to Remain and full access to public funds.
