Police seized a loaded gun, believed to be a viable firearm, from the boot of a car and arrested two men following a stop and search in Sandwell on Thursday night (10 November).
Unarmed officers, were on routine patrol in West Bromwich last night when they noticed a suspicious Ford Fiesta.
They stopped the car on Church Vale and arrested the occupants – two men aged 31 and 26 – after finding a gun in the boot, along with a substantial amount of drugs and cash.
Both men remain in custody.
What did police say about the operation?
Inspector Jacqueline Nicholson, from the Force CID Complex Investigation Team, said: “We are committed to doing all we can to investigate suspicious activity and in turn getting firearms and drugs off our streets.
