A teenager has been charged after a shopkeeper was seriously injured during a robbery in West Bromwich

Police have charged a teenager from West Bromwich after an armed robbery took place in the town on Sunday (November 5). 

The incident happened on Greets Green Road at around 8am. West Midlands Police said a shopkeeper had his phone stolen and was seriously injured after being stabbed multiple times.

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with robbery, wounding with intent and possession of a knife. A statement from West Midlands Police, read: "We have charged a teenager from West Bromwich following an armed robbery in the town on Sunday (5 November). 

"The incident happened on Greets Green Road just before 8.15am. A shopkeeper had his phone stolen and was seriously injured after being stabbed multiple times. 

"A boy, aged 15, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with robbery, wounding with intent and possession of a knife."
